INTRODUCTION:

Your day begins with light refreshment in the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere of Castell Malgwyn Hotel. Here you will be briefed on the days activities.

FALCONRY:

The 'Sport of Kings' - a brief history.

FURNITURE:

Explanation of the various items of equipment to be used.

MANNING:

Stepping up, sitting on the 'fist', carrying on the 'fist'.

TRAINING:

Jumping to the 'fist', flying on the creance, test flights.

Free flight, calling back, casting off, following on.

Our team of experienced falconers will give you a brief and informal history of falconry before guiding you through the equipment used and the basic handling techniques.

You will then be introduced to the magnificent birds - each with its own individual personality and character.

The afternoon is spent flying the birds in the beautiful hotel grounds and you will experience the thrill of seeing your bird flying free and returning on your command to the gloved fist.

The day concludes by seeing a bird hunting over local farmland.

Photo opportunities are available throughout the day so don't forget to bring your camera to capture those special moments - reminder of a captivating day!

All participants are covered by our public liability insurance.

Suitable outdoor clothing including waterproof footwear is advisable.
